This data sheet consolidates the catalog geometry, mechanical properties, and material constants of IncomePultrusion pultruded GFRP rebar in one citable reference. All figures are our standard catalog values; project-specific values are confirmed on the mill test report that accompanies each shipment. For procurement context and pricing, see the GFRP rebar product page; for quick estimates, use the FRP rebar weight calculator.
1. Standard Catalog Sizes and Geometry
Standard catalog diameters run from 6 mm to 25 mm; custom diameters up to 32 mm are quoted per drawing. Cross-sections are nominal solid-bar areas; weight figures are theoretical linear densities calculated from nominal fiber content (see note below the table).
| Nominal diameter (mm) | Cross-section (mm²) | Theoretical weight (g/m) |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 28.3 | 60 |
| 8 | 50.2 | 100 |
| 10 | 78.5 | 160 |
| 12 | 113 | 220 |
| 14 | 153.9 | 300 |
| 16 | 201 | 380 |
| 18 | 254.3 | 470 |
| 20 | 314 | 560 |
| 22 | 379.9 | 720 |
| 25 | 490.6 | 950 |
Weight figures are theoretical linear densities. Actual weighed values per bar differ slightly with resin content and surface finish; measured values for each shipment are stated on the batch certificate of conformity.
2. Mechanical Properties by Diameter
| Nominal diameter (mm) | Tensile strength (MPa) | Tension load (kN) |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 1100 | 31.1 |
| 8 | 1050 | 52.7 |
| 10 | 980 | 76.9 |
| 12 | 870 | 99 |
| 14 | 764 | 117.6 |
| 16 | 752 | 151 |
| 18 | 744 | 189 |
| 20 | 716 | 225 |
| 22 | 695 | 264 |
| 25 | 675 | 331 |
Typical GFRP tensile strength is 2–3× that of steel by cross-section, but stiffness (modulus) is roughly one quarter of steel — members are sized per structural calculation, not as a 1:1 steel substitution. Design provisions for GFRP-reinforced concrete are given in ACI PRC-440.1-15.
3. Material Constants (Catalog Typical Values)
| Property | Catalog typical |
|---|---|
| Tensile modulus | 40–42 GPa |
| Glass fiber content by weight | 70–80% |
| Density | 1.9–2.1 g/cm³ |
| Elongation at break | 2.6% |
| Resin systems | Polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy per specification |
4. Test Documentation: What Ships with Every Order
Every production batch is tested before release, and the documentation package accompanies each shipment:
- Mill test report (MTR) — batch mechanical results against the catalog values above
- Batch certificate of conformity — measured weight and dimensions per shipment
- Export documentation — packing list, invoice, and certificate of origin per destination requirements
- Third-party inspection — pre-shipment inspection through recognized agencies (SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV) can be arranged on request
The baseline material specification for solid round glass-fiber bars is ASTM D7957/D7957M-22; structural design guidance is provided by ACI PRC-440.1-15.
5. Specifying GFRP Rebar in a Purchase Order
To avoid a quotation cycle, include: diameter and quantity, bar lengths and cut-to-length schedule, straight or bent shapes (bend geometry per drawing), sand-coated or plain surface, resin system if specified, destination country and trade terms, and any testing or inspection requirements beyond the standard package. Send the requirement list through the quotation desk — engineering replies within 6 working hours.
