Premium FRP Bolts and Nuts

FRP Bolts and Nuts

FRP bolts and nuts are composite fasteners manufactured from glass fiber reinforced polymer (FRP). They provide corrosion resistance, electrical insulation and light weight for applications in chemical processing, marine environments, electrical installations and other conditions where metal fasteners may degrade or create conductivity risks.

These fasteners complement our range of pultruded FRP profiles, FRP rebar, pultrusion machines and pultrusion dies.

Product Description

FRP bolts and nuts are manufactured by combining glass fibers with polymer resin matrices such as vinyl ester, epoxy or polyester. Anti-UV additives can be included for outdoor durability. Their non-conductive properties make them suitable for electrical applications, while their corrosion resistance supports long-term performance in harsh chemical environments.

Installation Recommendations

Pre-drill holes to appropriate size (typically 1mm larger than bolt diameter)
Use lubrication compatible with the resin system for smoother installation if needed
Adhere to recommended torque specifications to prevent over-tightening
Use appropriate washers to distribute load over a larger surface area
For permanent installations in high-vibration environments, consider compatible thread-locking compounds

FAQ

What are FRP fastener bolts and nuts used for?
FRP bolts and nuts are used in chemical processing equipment, offshore platforms, cooling towers, electrical enclosures, marine hardware and corrosive environments where metal fasteners would rust or create electrical hazards.

Why choose FRP fasteners over metal fasteners?
FRP fasteners are corrosion resistant, approximately 75% lighter than steel by weight, electrically non-conductive and low maintenance. They eliminate rust, reduce weight and provide safety in chemical plants, marine applications and electrical installations.

Are FRP fasteners corrosion resistant?
Yes. FRP fasteners resist acids, alkalis, salts, moisture and chemicals in many applications, making them suitable for chemical processing, electroplating plants, offshore platforms, wastewater treatment and marine engineering.

Do FRP fasteners provide electrical insulation?
Yes. FRP fasteners are non-conductive, making them suitable for electrical equipment, high-voltage installations, substations and applications requiring electrical safety and insulation.

What sizes are available for FRP bolts and nuts?
FRP bolts and nuts are available in metric and imperial diameters with standard thread pitches. Threaded rods, washers and custom lengths can also be provided to match specific installation and load requirements.

Are FRP fasteners lightweight?
Yes. FRP fasteners are significantly lighter than metal fasteners while maintaining adequate strength for many applications. This reduces structural loading and simplifies handling and installation.

Can FRP fasteners be customized?
Yes. FRP fasteners can be customized in size, thread type, head style, color, resin system and strength specifications to meet chemical, marine, electrical and project-specific requirements.

What industries use FRP bolts and nuts?
FRP fasteners are widely used in chemical processing, marine and offshore, electrical equipment, cooling towers, electroplating, wastewater treatment, renewable energy, infrastructure and transportation industries.
