GRP Handrail Profiles – Product Category
GRP Handrail Profiles
Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) handrail profiles are pultruded structural components used in modular safety barrier systems. Manufactured from continuous E-glass fiber and thermosetting resin, these profiles provide corrosion resistance, electrical isolation and weight savings compared to galvanized steel alternatives.
These profiles are produced using pultrusion machines and pultrusion dies. For a complete range of structural shapes, see our pultruded FRP profiles.
Common applications: Wastewater treatment plants, chemical facilities, offshore platforms, electrical substations, marine environments and industrial walkways.

FAQ
What are GRP handrail profiles used for?
GRP handrail profiles are used to build safety barriers, guardrails and walkways in industrial plants, chemical facilities, wastewater treatment sites, offshore platforms and electrical substations where corrosion resistance and electrical insulation are important.
What are the advantages of GRP handrail systems over steel?
GRP handrail systems are lighter than steel, resist corrosion in many environments and are non-conductive. They can reduce installation labor and maintenance requirements compared with painted or galvanized steel systems.
What components are included in a GRP handrail system?
A typical system includes vertical posts (stanchions), top rails, mid rails, kick plates, base flanges, elbows, tees and stainless steel fasteners. Components are modular and can be assembled on site without welding.
Are GRP handrail profiles suitable for corrosive environments?
Yes. GRP handrail profiles resist moisture, salt exposure and many industrial chemicals, making them suitable for chemical plants, marine facilities, wastewater plants and offshore platforms.
Can GRP handrail profiles be customized?
Yes. GRP handrail profiles can be customized in size, length, color, resin system and surface finish to meet project-specific requirements and environmental conditions.
What industries use GRP handrail profiles?
GRP handrail profiles are used in chemical processing, water and wastewater treatment, power generation, marine and offshore, transportation, and general industrial construction where safety and durability are priorities.
Do GRP handrail profiles provide electrical insulation?
Yes. GRP handrail profiles are non-conductive, making them suitable for electrical substations, power plants and other installations where electrical safety is required.
