Pultruded profiles are a type of composite material manufactured through the pultrusion process, especially glass fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) profiles. This manufacturing technology involves pulling raw materials (usually fibers) through a resin bath, then pulling them through a heated mold, where the resin cures and solidifies into a continuous profile with a constant cross-section. The main components of these profiles are resin and glass fibers, which may include glass cloth, felt, and other types of fibers such as carbon fiber, organic fiber, and various metal or non-metal fibers. The resins used are typically epoxy resin, polyester resin, or phenolic resin, acting as adhesives. Auxiliary materials such as release agents, curing agents, catalysts, sealants, UV stabilizers, and mold cleaners are also used in the process.

Advantages of Pultruded Profiles

  1. High Strength, Lightweight: Pultruded glass fiber profiles are much lighter than aluminum and steel, making them ideal for applications that require significant weight reduction. Despite their light weight, they have high tensile strength and dimensional stability.

  4. Flexibility and Impact Resistance: FRP profiles do not undergo permanent deformation under working loads, thanks to the dispersion of loads by glass mats, which also helps prevent surface damage.
  5. Cost-Effective: The pultrusion process can economically produce complex shapes and profiles. The materials are easy to handle and transport, and they can be cut and shaped using simple tools, reducing the overall project cost.

  • Petrochemical Industry: Used for power and pneumatic pipeline supports, generator radiators, stairs and handrails, operating platforms, etc., due to their excellent corrosion resistance.
  • Electric Power Industry: Serves as insulation support components, high-voltage cable trays, antenna poles, and high-voltage current operating rods, benefiting from their good insulation properties.
  • Construction and Infrastructure: Used in outdoor building projects for floor support beams, bridge components, anti-corrosion guardrails, and railway switch arms, as they are durable and easy to install.
  • Utilities and Telecommunications: Used for electric poles, crossarms, line markers, and fiber optic cabling, utilizing their durability, non-conductivity, and low maintenance requirements.
