Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) machinery is used to produce SMC, a high-strength glass fiber reinforced polyester material primarily used for compression molding. The machinery involved in the SMC process includes equipment for preparing SMC sheets and compression molding machines for forming the final components. SMC equipment supports high-volume production with short production cycles. Depending on the size and thickness, the production cycle for each part typically ranges from 1 to 5 minutes. The Machinery Body

The body consists of an upper beam, lower beam, slider, columns, and nuts. The upper and lower beams are firmly connected with four columns and nuts, forming a rigid frame. The slider is guided by the columns and moves up and down along them. The upper and lower guide sleeves of the slider are equipped with dust rings to prevent dust from scratching the column surface. T-slots (specific dimensions proposed by the user) are opened on the slide beam and lower beam. The column nuts can adjust the unevenness of the worktable and the non-perpendicularity between the worktable and the piston. Large parts are precision processed using large CNC floor-type boring and milling machines and high-precision CNC gantry planing and milling machines. The three-beam four-column structure is optimized by computer and finite element analysis, providing high equipment strength and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The main cylinder adopts a piston cylinder structure, fixed in the center hole of the upper beam by bolts. The cylinder body is rolled, and the piston rod is quenched and tempered, with its surface plated with hard chrome and polished for wear resistance, aesthetics, and corrosion resistance. The piston rod and guide sleeve use composite material technology, ensuring wear resistance, stability, and reliability.

Hydraulic System

The machine uses an electro-hydraulic servo drive system, which has the following advantages:

  1. Energy-saving: Compared to traditional hydraulic machines, the electro-hydraulic servo-driven hydraulic press is significantly more energy-efficient. Depending on the processing technology and production rhythm, the servo-driven hydraulic press can save 20%-60% of electricity.
  2. Low noise: The oil pump of this electro-hydraulic servo-driven hydraulic press uses a low-noise pump. Traditional hydraulic presses generally use axial piston pumps. Under the same flow and pressure, the noise of the low-noise pump is 5dB-10dB lower than that of the axial piston pump.
  3. Less heat generation: It reduces cooling costs and hydraulic oil costs. The servo-driven hydraulic press’s hydraulic system does not generate heat from overflow. When the slider is stationary, there is no flow, so there is no hydraulic resistance heat generation. Its hydraulic system’s heat generation is generally 10%-30% of that of traditional hydraulic machines.
  4. High efficiency: Through proper acceleration and deceleration control and energy optimization, the speed of the servo-controlled hydraulic press can be greatly increased. Its work rhythm is several times that of traditional hydraulic machines, reaching 10/min-15/min.
  5. High control accuracy: The pressure control link of the servo oil pump system is a closed-loop control. The system pressure is measured by a pressure sensor, and the measured pressure does not change with oil temperature or oil viscosity, ensuring high pressure control accuracy and good repeatability, thus improving product quality stability.
